Tools for evolving civilizations
There was once this British guy who bought a Sega Saturn with cash, took it home, kept it for about a week, and then brought it back to the store claiming that it had suffered a "major fault." The store gave him his money back and he went home happy. Only months later - when the Saturn had finally found its way back to Sega HQ - did they realize that the case did not actually contain the Japanese 32-bit wizardry you would expect, but instead a bag of E-Z-Cook(tm) brown rice.

That Bargraph Means Business!
The bargraph you just clicked on shows how many people have followed its respective link. It's a clickthrough meter.

It's all done with a smidgen of javascript that we'll release soon. Then, clicking on a bargraph like you just did won't just bring up this stupid page, but instead a whole new page, parsed out just for you. It will include:

  • Clickthrough data about that link.
  • Clickthrough data for all other links out there that link to the same page(!)
  • An online discussion forum with a sweet user interface and contributor reputation system.
You'll be able to put all this functionality into your website just by cutting and pasting a bit of javascript into your html. All the database nitty-grits happen on our server in a nicely open and fault-tolerant fashion. No registration, no forms, no Apache modules, no credit card numbers, no passwords, no nothing.
