How To Get a Collaborative Website of Your Own
You have plenty of options:
1) Call Civilution
If you are a small-to-medium-sized
not-for-profit agency or business, then we are especially interested
in and qualified for building your site. Our low head-count and
overhead make us an effective and affordable partner for projects like
yours. Preliminary visits, presentations and discussions are of course
all gratis. Drop us a line sometime so we
can talk about it.
2) Call Someone Else
We are not the only company developing collaborative websites,
naturally. If you are a huge operation with millions to spend, you would be better served going to a bigger outfit like Arsdigita, the publishers and original users of the very same toolkit that we use. Other smaller-time developers include Furfly, OpenForce and Ybos.
3) Download the Toolkits and Try it Yourself
Since the OpenACS toolkit is Open
Source, there's nothing stopping you from just downloading it
yourself, learning the system by either tinkering around or taking one
of Arsdigita's free
training courses, and building a collaborative website
yourself. This takes a lot of time, effort, and a decidedly
left-brained personality, naturally, but at least you have the option.
